Meet Our Staff!

Brandi King, LPC

 

Brandi is a Licensed Professional Counselor and owner of Holding Hope Counseling Services. She holds a Master's degree in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from Montana State University-Billings and has over 15 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, families and couples within numerous settings and diagnoses. 

Brandi has an eclectic approach, utilizing a variety of theoretical approaches, behavioral neuroscience, and real-life experiences to meet the needs of each individual.  Brandi is trained in EMDR, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Grief and Loss, Sand Tray/Play Therapy, Play Therapy, Executive Functioning, PBIS, as well as working with diagnoses such as ODD, ADHD, depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma disorders, etc.   Brandi is committed to assisting each individual on their existing strengths to live the best life possible.

Laura Powell-Rousey, PCSW

 Laura is a Provisional Clinical Social Worker, PCSW, at Holding Hope Counseling Services. She received her bachelor’s degree, BSW, in Social Work from the University of Wyoming in 2016. She completed her BSW internship at Catholic Charities of Wyoming where she worked with impoverished families who were victims of abuse and neglect. She received her master’s in Social Work from the University of Western New Mexico in 2019. While attending the University of Western New Mexico, she completed her internship at Bright Kids Learning Center, a therapeutic preschool in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She plans on becoming a fully Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW, this fall.  She has been working as a social worker for the past four and a half years and loves what she does! Her goal is to help children and families not only recover from trauma but thrive and enjoy life. She wants children to excel in school and community settings and go home to a loving and peaceful household. Family is the most important thing to her and she bases her career on the belief that if families, schools, clinicians, and communities can work together they can truly make a difference in the lives of children. 

Karisa Aurand, LPC Intern

 Karisa is an LPC intern working under the direct supervision of Brandi. She earned her bachelor’s degree in human services and will graduate with her master’s degree in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from Montana State University Billings in December. Karisa has an interest in working with grief and loss, and trauma and is eager to develop her knowledge and skill set while working at Holding Hope Counseling Services. 

Amy Hill

 Amy is the administrative guru of Holding Hope Counseling Services! She will greet you with a warm smile, a cup of coffee, and do her best to make you feel right at home. Amy is eager and excited to assist you in scheduling an intake and getting to know you!
